
Parking:
If you have brought your car to Nice there is secure 24hour underground parking at the Holiday Inn, 2 minutes walk away. You are able to buy a ticket for the duration of your stay, which allows you to come and go as you please.
There are parking meters outside the apartment.
For the local inhabitants, the Promenade des Anglais has simply become the Promenade. On Sundays, bicyclists, babystrollers,skaters and whole families can be seen out for a stroll along the Promenade.
Aside from numerous events such as the Battle of Flowers, all way along it has blue chairs and cabanas ideal for a lazy time contemplation the azure blue water of the Bay of Angels, (La Baie des Anges)

Nice and surrounding Areas Nice is very much an outdoors city, a temperature that rarely goes above 95F in summer or below 40F in winter, it is an all-year destination and is as popular and lively in winter as it is in summer. From laying on the beach, soaking up the sun in summer, to a great base for skiing in the winter. Isola 2000, a superb ski resort is 90km away. A ski pass and bus (there and back) costs 28 Euros. Nice is a great walking city but you can always relax on the beach or in an outdoor cafe. If it's your first visit to Nice, and you don't have much time, you might find a guided tour useful.

There are two possibilities, both close to the apartment.
Cross over the Promenade des Anglais and head left in the direction of the port.
After a couple of hundred yards you will come to the Petit Train (Little Train). This will take you through the old town and up to Le Chateau.
A 40 minute trip costs 6 euros (children under nine 3 euros). A better, but more expensive alternative ( Adults 17 Euros, Children 9 Euros) can found a few yards further on.
The open-top double-decker bus gives a Grand Tour of Nice lasting 1hr 30min and gives you a great idea of the city layout. From March to early November the service runs every half hour from 9. 30am to 6.30pm; the rest of the year hourly from 9.30am to 5.00pm.
The service makes 11 stops and you can hop on and off anywhere you want.
It includes Cimiez (Roman ruins and Matisse Museum) and the Acropolis (Museum of Contemporary Art).
If you pay 20 Euros rather than 17 Euros you can extend the ticket to two days.
